The Poncho
It may seem like a cute idea at first but the truth of the matter is you might as well cut a hole in a blanket and wear in its place. The poncho is unfortunately making a comeback is becoming available in stores like Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters and to be frank, it just is not an attractive look.
It may have been a good idea in the 60's and early 70's but to bring it back is a bad idea. Refrain from the poncho. It's as stylish as a leopard print Snuggie and just has no place in anyone's wardrobe.

Winter boot guide
Wednesday, November 04, 2009
One of the best ways to keep your toesies warm this winter is with a nice sexy pair of leather or suede boots. After all, it is a hot ticket item and there are many fun and different styles to choose from. Unfortunately a nice pair can be rather pricy, so it is vital to take care of your shoes. Suede should stay clear of water and snow all together, while standard leather should be dried off after getting wet. This should ensure that your shoes will stay looking great and last longer. As for types this mainly refers to the height, ankle, mid-calf, knee length, and over the knee. Each one should be worn a certain way to stay looking chic.
Ankle
Generally ankle boots should be worn with a skirt or dress that is no longer than knee length. For extra warmth in the cold match it with a cute pair of tights. For an even warmer look, match it with leggings or cropped pants.
Mid-calf and Knee length
Can be worn with straight leg jeans, simply tuck them inside the boot and wear it with a dressy top. For a hotter look, match it with a skirt and a pair of tights (again depending on the weather). If you decide not to wear tights with your shoes, do not let your socks show. This is a fashion don’t!
Fur-lined boots
Generally reach the middle of the calf and just like mid-calf boots, it can be worn with jeans or a skirt. This is a fun look and can be dressed up or down. Unfortunately these boots are not meant to get wet or to be worn in the snow. Doing so would ruin the material. So be careful when wearing this style.
Over the knee
These boots are strictly for short skirts and dresses. If you are going to pay out for all that leather you are going to want to show it off. The shoe is usually made with a high heel and is a great way to show off those sexy legs. Over the knee may sound like it's only for strippers but they really aren’t. Anyone with great legs can wear them and look great. Fortunately this boot is very in this year.

How to wear leggings
Sunday, November 01, 2009
Leggings are one item that is very in this winter. They are warm, cute and fun to mix and match. But not many people know how to properly wear them. By wearing leggings, you can either be a fashion do or a fashion don’t.
When wearing leggings it is important to think them more as tight than pants when accessorizing. This will help in the keeping the proper fashion conventions in mind when getting dressed. There are certain items that look great while others should be passed up all together.
Tunics and long tops
First off, when wearing a top or dress with leggings, you do not want it to be tight fitting. The silhouette you are going for is big on top and tight on bottom. This rule is different if you wear a top with a skirt, but we’ll get to that later.
Generally you want the tunic or long top to be above the knee and near the thigh region, but the top needs to at least cover your bottom. “Why can’t I wear short tops with leggings?” You can, but only if it is matched with a skirt. As I said earlier, leggings are to be treated like tights. Would you wear tights with a cropped sweater?
The shoes you generally want to wear with tunics or long tops are flats or pumps. This is a generally a more flattering look.
Skirts and dresses
With skirts you generally want to wear a cute casual top that is not long. Most people tuck their shirt into their skirt when wearing leggings. The sleeves on the top can be however you want, short or long.
Dresses can be pretty much anything you want. Typically you want the dress to a bit of a A-line but that isn’t really important. “Can I wear a sweater dress with leggings?” Absolutely, a sweater dress would look great with leggings, but if you do wear it, you will be limited in shoes. I suggest wearing only flats with a sweater dress and leggings. As for the sleeve length on the dress, it really isn’t an issue. Have a ball and wear short or long sleeves.
When wearing a skirt or dress, you have more shoe options than with tunics and long tops. They can be matched with flats, pumps or ankle boots. With the cold winter weather you are more likely to see people wearing ankle boots with their skirt or dress rather than flats or pumps.
One more thing to keep in mind is that your leggings should match at least one item in your outfit, whether it is the top, the skirt or whatever. And that pretty much covers all there is to know. Now that you understand the 101 of leggings, go and have a blast and prepare to look fabulous this winter.
