Ruffles are in

Have your pick at all the different styles. Ruffles are hot and provide so much in the way of possibilities.

The Jean Guide

Friday, December 04, 2009

There are tons of different types and styles of jeans for gals to choose from these days. With the many choices it can sometimes be difficult to properly accessorize what you wear. Some are made to be dressed up while others are made to be casual. Rather than ending up a hot mess, everyone should know how to properly wear their jeans.

Boyfriend Jeans
Keep in mind that these pants are intended to be a very relaxed “just woke out of bed” look. Think t-shirts and plaid. Tanks are also a possibility. Everything worn with these pants tend to be casual and/or baggy. Boyfriend jeans are not the type of pants you want to wear with a pair of stilettos. “But what if I want to make the look girly?” If you want a more feminine touch to your pants, you can wear a pair of open toed heels. This is always an option, but most people tend to pair it with sneakers without socks.

Skinny Jeans
These denims are very in at the moment. There aren’t a lot of shoe options available with this look since the legs are so tapered. Most people match there skinny jeans with a pair of pumps and a dressy top. Boots are also an option, tucking the jeans into a tall boot makes a fab. look. Unlike the boyfriend jeans, this look is meant to be dressed up. Since the denim is so slim fitting, you want to balance the look with a fuller more dominating top to balance your shape and not look like a stick.

Boot Leg and flared cut
Pretty much anything goes with these pants. They can either be dressed up or down. Boot cut is your staple jean that almost never goes out of style and is fairly safe to wear year-round. Flared is like the boot cut but provide more of an almost bellbottom look. These jeans are meant for day or night and can be worn with pretty much any shoe or top. One shoe to avoid though is the tall boot. These can be worn inside the jean but can not be tucked in like the skinny jean.

Straight leg
For those who do not like the extra room at the calf there is always the straight leg which are a lot like skinny jeans, except not as form fitting. The only difference in dressing the straight leg and the boot cut is that you can tuck your boots into a straight leg jean.

Of course all stores have different names for their denim but they all pretty much fall into the categories listed above. It is always a good idea to try it on before buying. Just by looking at the jeans you can pretty much tell what category it falls into. Now you know how to dress up your jeans you can leave the house always looking your best, even in denim.
